Abuse from enforcement agents will not be tolerated in Harrow
We are disgusted that enforcement agents provided by the private sector have been allowed to threaten violence to people in Harrow. Conservative run Harrow Council have serious questions to answer.
Everyone in Harrow, and beyond, is disgusted by the viral video of enforcement agents employed by Kingdom and contracted to Harrow Council threatening physical violence on the streets of Harrow.
Joseph Gaunt, Chair of Harrow LibDems said; “it is totally unacceptable that these enforcement agents were allowed to be active in our borough and behave in this way. Conservative-led Harrow Council has serious questions to answer about the standards of suppliers they select to provide services for our borough. This recent case is why the LibDems have called for an end to the cowboy practice of fining for profit".
Nationally, the LibDems have been fighting to outlaw the practice of ‘fining for profit’ - where local councils hire private firms to issue fixed penalty notices. These firms are often paid per fine and keep 85-90% of the revenue. The LibDems have had to push the Government hard to recognise the sheer scale of this cowboy enforcement economy preying on the public to make profit.
