How the Lib Dems can beat Reform UK

  • 15 Jul 2025
  • 8.00 pm - 10.30 pm
  • 1 Whitehall Place
    London
    SW1A 2HE

Kier Starmer doesn’t seem to have a vision or plan for where the country’s going.

The Tories are still coming to terms with their historic loss, and turning on themselves.

Meanwhile Reform UK are polling to be the next party in government.

Even when I got elected as MP for North Norfolk last summer, I couldn’t have foreseen this happening.

And I believe the Liberal Democrats have the most agency of any British political party to change the course of the river.

Join Steff Aquarone MP to hear how we could usher in a new wave of common-sense politics, underpinned by strong morals, but where debate and discussion are welcome as we wrangle out the plan to get this country going again – socially, economically, and culturally.

After all, Labour have ditched their reputation as the social safety net.

The Tories have blown their economic credibility out of the water.

And Reform UK have owned the culture war dialogue for too long.

£50 including drinks.

This event is brought to you by Friends of Steff, a group of supporters who have pledged to help ensure Steff gets re-elected at the next General Election.

Summer Celebration Raffle, Chesham and Amersham Liberal Democrats

  • 01 Jul 2025
  • 6.00 pm - 11.59 pm

It's July and we are still celebrating the fantastic results from the May Local Elections, not just in Chesham and Amersham, but right across Buckinghamshire! We won a clean sweep on both Chesham and Amersham Town Councils and took 11 seats in our constituency on the Unitary Council.  The Conservatives lost overall control of Buckinghamshire Unitary Council in May and are now having to listen to the views of other Parties!

Now we are moving forward to  support our wonderful new Councilors and our brilliant MP, Sarah Green, by buying a Risograph. This super printing machine is going to help us become more effective, enabling us to send out very localised leaflets. It will save us money and cut paper waste. And it will help us keep in touch with local residents and also help us win more elections across Bucks in the future.

So please buy your raffle tickets and support our fundraising efforts, so that we can continue to build our winning team.

Your ticket could win our wonderful basket of summer time goodies, worth over £100 in total!. It includes champagne, chocolates, wine glasses, stone ice cubes (!) and so many other exciting prizes!

AI - A look under the bonnet

  • 14 Jul 2025
  • 8.00 pm - 9.00 pm

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a concept reserved for science fiction or tech giants—it's a reality that is reshaping the business landscape at an unprecedented pace. Whether viewed as a catalyst for innovation or a source of uncertainty, one thing is undeniable: AI is here to stay, and it is impacting industries across the board.

Woking Lib Dem member, Stephen Wilder, will peel back the layers of AI without the technical jargon. Stephen is a seasoned IT consultant who has worked with clients such as Microsoft, NATO, Harrods, Bentley

Motors, the MCC and the United Nations, will demystify AI, offering clear insights and lots of hands-on examples of what AI truly is, what it can achieve, and importantly, what it cannot.

Confidential Campaign Briefing (Summer Recap)

  • 16 Oct 2025
  • 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm

We are holding a Confidential Campaign Briefing

exclusively for Liberal Democrat members and campaigners in the Hazel Grove Constituency.

This virtual session will be led jointly by the Hazel Grove

Campaigns Team and Senior Campaign Managers from the HQ Campaigns and Elections

team. Together, we will provide an overview of our campaign activity at the UK,

regional and constituency level — including insights into how we are performing

locally, what we’re learning from conversations on the doorstep, and how we

compare to the other parties in the area.

This is a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding

of the wider campaign strategy, ask questions, and hear directly from those

leading the national and local effort.

Please note: this is a confidential briefing and open

only to Hazel Grove Liberal Democrat members and active campaigners.

The Zoom joining link will be circulated via email ahead of the meeting. We look forward to seeing you virtually.
