Our quarterly pizza & quiz night is back again for 2025!
Join this mind teasing social event with the fellow Lib Dems from across Merton.
Location : Al Forno, 2A Kings Road, Wimbledon, SW19 8QN
Date/time : Sunday 16th February 2025 from 7.30pm.
Pizza and drinks not included - Al Forno have an excellent menu to choose from.
Please note the venue is not accessible as the quiz is held upstairs with no lift available.

We will be joined by Bobby Dean MP, our newly elected member of parliament for Carshalton and Wallington, who will be talking to us about winning in diverse areas.
Pizza and soft drinks will be provided. Please let us know of any dietary requirements or allergies.
The event will be hosted in the Norbury area of Croydon and the exact location will be shared on booking. The venue is close to the 450 and 250 bus routes and there is free on-street parking.

the first Liberal Democrat MP for

Between May 2022 and July 2024, Will worked as
Lib Dem Campaign Manager for the South East. He’s been a local Woking councillor since 2009 and
is a former Mayor. He recently became Deputy Leader of Woking Borough Council
where he’s played a leading role tackling the financial crisis left by the
former Conservative council. Will is extremely well qualified to shed some
light on what is really going on behind the local government reorganisation
scene.

Join other members and Lord (Chris) Fox to discuss the current international outlook and related political matters.
Chris Fox is Liberal Democrat Business and Industry Spokesperson in the house of Lords and is also a member of the House of Lords International Agreements Committee which scrutinises international treaties.
Last year he became a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
His political activity includes serving as a councillor in Hounslow in the 1990s and as Liberal Democrats Chief Executive when the Liberal Democrat entered government in 2010.
Chris was brought up in rural Herefordshire and gained a chemistry degree from Imperial College, London, graduating in 1980. Before becoming a lord in 2014, he had a long career in the petroleum, nuclear, food, defence, automotive and aerospace sectors. He served on the executive committees of two FTSE 100 companies. He is an executive member of the British American Parliamentary Group and a vice President of the German British Chamber of industry and Commerce.
Entrance is £5. There will also probably be a raffle.

We are
delighted to announce that Rt Hon Sir Norman Lamb has agreed to visit Bromley
Lib Dems to give us a talk about his political career & his involvement in
the health sector particularly with regards to his campaigning on mental health
issues.
He was
the Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk from 2001 to 2019 and he was Chair of
the Science and Technology Select Committee from 2017 to 2019, elected by all
MPs.
He has
served as Minister of State for Care and Support in the Department of Health
from 2012 to 2015 and was Parliamentary Private Secretary to. Nick Clegg in the
Conservative-Liberal Democrat Coalition Government.
As
Health Minister Norman worked to reform the care system and led the drive to
integrate health social care with a greater focus on preventing ill health. He
also challenged the NHS to ensure that mental health was treated with the same
priority as physical health including the introduction of access and waiting
standards in mental health for the first time
He was
knighted in the 2019 Birthday Honours list and appointed chair of South London
and Maudsley NHS foundation Trust in December 2019.
Norman
was a Solicitor in Norwich before his election to the House of Commons and was
previously a Councillor on Norwich City Council.

The London Bridge & West Bermondsey team are hosting an action morning for all those who want to help get three NEW Lib Dem councillors elected. This ward currently has 3 Labour councillors and is one of our targets for 2026.
The focus of the morning will be delivering the rest of the focuses so if you want to increase your step count with other like minded people this is the morning for you.
Starting at 10.30am at Bermondsey Spa Gardens for a quick photo before heading out to deliver. The team will be then meeting at the Horseshoe Inn on Meilor Street around 1pm for a rest.

Heather Glass is a co-founder of Lambeth for Europe and has chaired the group since 2016. She sits on the National Council, Membership and Audit Committees of European Movement UK.
Ben Austin co-founded European Movement in Wandsworth and Merton in 2016 and has helped run the organisation since. As a volunteer he co-organised the Battersea and Tooting constituencies Stronger In campaigns for the Referendum, whilst living in Balham.

Andrew George MP is holding a feedback event for St Ives constituents in the Helston area. Andrew will be be giving an update on current events in Parliament, his work there and thoughts on international and national current affairs.
