The discussion will focus on how we can rebuild our relationship with the European Union, covering everything from Erasmus+ and a Youth Mobility Scheme to (a) Customs Union, membership of the Single Market and rejoining the EU itself.

The discussion will be chaired by Louis Adam, Parliamentary Candidate for Kenilworth & Southam.

Doors open at 13:00, with the panel discussion to start at 13:30.

Southampton Liberal Democrats are happy to announce our winter quiz:

Starring the experienced and questionably reused Andy Beal as our quizmaster.

As usual, there will be high-quality entertainment, including a quiz, the classically chaotic play your cards right and the obligatory raffle where some truly amazing and dismal prizes will be on offer.

As part of the entrance fee not only will you get entry into the quiz – you will also be fed with some superbly prepared Mac and Cheese. Drinks will also be available to purchase from Mettricks on the evening, too.

YouGov has reported Immigration & Asylum as the top political issue in the UK in recent months. 

Net migration stats peaked at almost 1 million in March 2023 and it seems undeniable that Reform's popularity is strongly linked to their anti-immigrant and even dog-whistle racist (or just racist) stance on the issue.

Since then immigration has come down, a lot. And more and more Brits are emigrating. Some predictions estimate net migration could even drop below zero this year because of changes to visa rules and student levies and increased emigration. 

But will that put the issue to bed? And what happens if we do end up with a shrinking population? 

Between Reform and the Green Party, it seems that asylum seekers, so called 'illegal' migrants, and wider immigration figures are likely to remain a big political culture war over the coming years but what do Liberal Democrats have to say about this and what should we say? Especially if we're to move beyond 'culture wars' and find real solutions?

Join us on 8th March for a celebration of International Women's Day, open to the whole community. Hear a brief history of bread, with intriguing tales of local women’s roles in baking in Bucks. Learn a little of the many varieties of bread and their cultural and global significance. 

Fun for all the family, including Fascinating Facts, a Quick Quiz, Polish The Poem, and recipes to take away.

Women have bound their families and communities together with the gift of bread through the ages. Recipes, stories and traditions, handed down and shared with family and friends, continue to this day. 

Come along to sample breads, buns and more, from around the world. There will be spreads and dips and take-away bags for those who are fasting.  Tea, coffee and cold drinks will also be served.

We shall be running a raffle, with great prizes, in aid of Chiltern Foodbank and UNICEF's appeals for children in Ukraine and Gaza.

We will start with some door-knocking in Rotherhithe to support our fantastic Young Liberal candidate Sorcha Ni Chonghaile, before heading to Brevevita at 192 Lower Rd, London SE16 2UN for a fire side chat with Josh from 7pm hosted by Cllr Rachel Bentley. We’ll be hearing from Josh on his campaigning to make domestic abuse a specific criminal offence.

A regular meet-up on the second Wednesday of every month for Liberal Democrat members, supporters and the Lib Dem curious in the Folkestone and Hythe area!

Simply come along for a social drink and a chat: no speeches, no leaflet delivery. It's a "buy your own" event (sorry!) but come along and say hello to our Councillors, campaigners, members and friends.

The Royal Norfolk Hotel is on Sandgate High Street - there is free parking from 6pm at Castle Road Car Park in Sandgate which is one minute walk away and often on street parking in Castle Road (behind the hotel) as well.

Join us for a wine-tasting event with Tim Atkin, an award-winning wine writer and Master of Wine, and help us fundraise for our local election efforts.

Tim will show eight different wines from his cellar - covering New World and Old World regions. We will provide cheese and other nibbles. You will also hear an update from Sue Wixley and Fergus Foord on their campaign to make a breakthrough on 7 May.

Join us as we discuss politics nationally and locally. Munira will be taking us through the machinations of Westminster and how the Liberal Democrats are more than ever the voices of reason in the hothouse of national debate. Then with the local election campaign stepping up, Gareth will tell us what he is most proud of achieving across Richmond Borough and our plans for the next 4 years. Your chance too to grill these two seasoned politicians!

Join our members’ briefing on B&NES Council’s 2026/27 budget where Cllr Mark Elliott will outline our prudent financial management and commitment to maintaining frontline services, particularly for children and older people. Join us for the inside track on the budget on Wednesday March 4th at 19:30. 

The next meeting of our Executive Committee will be held on 9th March 2026 via zoom.

The meeting starts at 7pm.  All members of the Bromley party are welcome to attend the meeting and, if time permits, participate, but only members of the Committee can vote.  The meeting will also be online - the zoom code is:

The Executive Committee plays a vital role in steering the direction, of the local party, ensuring good governance, and supporting campaigning efforts. Members are elected to positions on the Executive Committee every year at the AGM, normally held in November.
